Sickness Policy

If you are absent from work because of sickness or injury, you must inform a Doza Director or Account Lead immediately and in any event by no later than 30 minutes before the start of your next working day. You must inform your Account Lead of the reason for your absence and the period for which you are likely to be absent.

If you are absent from work (whatever the length of absence) due to sickness or injury you must complete a self-certificate and give this to your Account Manager. If you are absent for more than seven consecutive days (whether or not working days) you must also provide your Account Lead with a doctor’s certificate from the eighth consecutive day of sickness or injury. The Company may require you to provide a doctor’s certificate for shorter periods of absence.

If you are absent from work due to sickness or injury you will be entitled to receive company sick pay as follows:

ServiceSick Pay
Less than 3 months2 weeks
3 months but less than 1 year4 weeks
1 year but less than 2 years6 weeks
3 years but less than 5 years12 weeks
over 5 years16 weeks

Payment of any company sick pay will be calculated on a 12 month rolling period. Therefore, any paid absence for sickness or injury in the 12 months immediately preceding the beginning of a new period of absence will be deducted from the sickness payment shown above.

Any sums paid to you will include any statutory sick pay (“SSP”) to which you may be entitled. The qualifying period for SSP is 5 days each week. All payment made for absence due to sickness and injury will be treated as a loan if compensation is subsequently received from a third party and you will be required to repay the amount of sick pay received in these circumstances. If you have been absent from work due to sickness or injury, you may be required to undergo a medical examination by a doctor, contracted through Doza Consulting, whether you are still absent from work or not. You agree that any necessary report prepared by the doctor will be sent to the Company and may be made available to the Company's directors and professional advisers.

If you fall sick immediately before or during a period of planned holiday leave, you will be required to take the holiday as planned. However, the Company may at its sole discretion make alternative arrangements for this period of absence. The Company does not accept liability for any holiday cancelled due to sickness or injury.
